Apps & Tools

This is what I like to call "the tuff ahh starting pack", because it's simply my favorite apps, tools, and companies in the tech space.

What are these?

Linux, an operating system like Windows or Mac OS

i3, a window tiling manager for Linux

Firefox, a browser, like Safari or Chrome (but considered more privacy focused)

Ublock orgin, a content blocker browser extention to prevent ads and limit tracking

ChatGPT, tbh I kinda hate AI and how companies like OpenAI are collecting huge amounts of data but I'd be lying if I said I didn't use ChatGPT frequently

Reddit, I'm a huge Reddit user

VLC Media Player, I was introduced to this early 2026 and fell in love with it, but its litteraly just a video/audio player

Github, a great place to share and find tech projects

Localsend, an open source file sharing app, like an alternative Airdrop

YouTube, I'm hard addicted to ts

Steam, app with lots of games

Mullvad VPN, top 1 virtual private network application I've used

qBittorrent, a torrenting client that I use to download Linux ISOs

FileZilla, an FTP client I think, used to transfer files from computer to computer

JellyFin, a self hosted open source media server thing that I use as an alternative for Netflix on my TV

1337x, a website to find torrents, I personally just like to look at screenshots of movies from here, I don't actually use any of the torrents

FMHY, stands for Free Media Heck Yeah, a cool wiki-like site where you can learn about obtaining media

Davinci Resolve, a video editor that I've been using for 6 years

OBS, a popular recording and streaming software

Duolingo, I dislike the company but I gotta keep that spanish streak

Yuka, really cool food scanner app

Apple, I'm a huge Apple glazer

Safari because I like the IOS user interface

How to fall in love with Linux 💖

I believe that Linux is the best thing that ever happened to the universe. Just kidding, can't go that far. But yes, I ❤️ Linux. If you didn't know, Linux is a free and open source operating system, think of it like Windows or Mac OS. My friend tought me all about Linux and spent years convincing me that its better and it slowly worked. It's sad to say that I still use Windows on my main computer, but I have a few justifiable reasons for this decision.

Why don't you use Linux on your main computer

Thanks for asking. First of all, it's a lot of work to setup everything on your computer. It would likely take days to get everything how I like it and I don't really want to do that. Second, Linux is (unfortunately) lesser well known, which means some games and apps won't work their best on Linux. Third, my Windows 11 setup is fine, I rarley have problems with it. These are the main reasons why I don't want to switch to Linux on my main computer.

I see Linux being used (for me) on Laptops and other devices in my house. I think that keeping Windows (and have it track me hella) is more worth it than switching on my PC. However, If I knew everything I know now about computers, I'd definitley use Linux on that PC. It's just sadly a bit late now.

My AI opinions

Let me just start off by saying that AI is the worst thing that happened to our society. I think that it will make our world a dystopia, similar to The Matrix (which I watched recently). However, it'l take some time for that to happen and I think we have a chance of "saving ourselves".

AI writing, images, and videos especially piss me off. Anything that is created to be admired that isn't made by a human should be banned. It ruins creativity and shows an instant gratification way out of actually creating. This is the reason why I put the "Written by human, not by AI" badge at the bottom of this page. It also looks kinda nice.

With all this being said, I also want to talk about the positives of AI. AI can do a pretty decent job at moderation at a scale no human could. It can detect and ban messages and content pretty well, which I think overall is a good thing. It can also take in big amounts of data and do good summaries, which saves a lot of time.

A small disclaimer

I use AI way too much. I use ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Amazon Rufus all the time. Even though I hate AI, I still use it. This is just my opinion and it's totaly fine for you to have yours.

My Piracy opinions

I pirate sometimes. Piracy is morally wrong, and I'm not endorsing it by any means.

Some people try to justify piracy by saying streaming services and other companies are really selfish. While that may be true, piracy is wrong no matter how you look at it. It's obviously very low on the "How bad is the crime" teir list (maybe like a D- teir). If you're going to pirate, you don't need to find an excuse to justify it. Just pirate it bro (again not endorsing piracy).

Piracy can be a crime where nobody knows or is affected by it in any way shape or form. It's different than robbing someones home. Heres why: Robbing someones home directly negatively impacts that persons life quite a bit. Piracy does not directly impact any one person and will not make anyones life worse. It's also hella fun.

Good Grades ≠ Smart

I'm obviously talking to an extent. If you are dumb dumb and you are failing every class but Beginner Guitar, then yes, you may not be the brightest. But also knowing how to learn is better than being smart yk.

Having the worlds best time management and dicipline but being lower on the IQ scale will likely result in you having A's around the board. Getting those dubs in schdool is goodie and all but you can still be quite sucsessful without. DONT GIVE UP ON SCHOOL becuase you'll end up in the trenches for the rest of your life.

Apple Music > Spotify

Here are the pros and cons of using Apple Music over spotify:

Pros

Better UI (obviously opinion)

It's like 2 dollars cheaper per month and if you have Apple One its even cheaper

If you have iPhone then it integrates really well

Its not even that bad on android

Spotify is lowkey gonna go bankrupt so expect their subscription prices to 💥 upwards

Collects less data if you care about that

Cons

Not every unreleased or really niche song on there (which imo is a pro but technicly theres less content)

If you use spotify you can get a "special" version to get preuimim for free but at that point are you even using spotify

Gate Meth

I call this method "Gate Meth" because how you would actually describe it is DHGate Method. DHgate is some website that hosts sellers that sell items. Its hella sketch and edgy but its a lifehack if you don't have the casshhh in the bankk and you're tryna get that dope widda fakkies (iycmd). basiclh just a site to buy cheapass fake shit that looks real. niche.

Just use fucking HTML

I agree partially but i think it should be "Stop overloading your fucking website with css". choose a background color and a font and stop with the animations.

html looks decent by itself if you code it without css, but nowadays when you turn off the fucking css the html looks like shit (no shit).
